At a mere 10.3 lbs, Kokopelli's new 8.6 foot Castaway XL PackRaft is an exceptional choice for paddlers needing lightweight, yet durable, touring options with a bit more carrying capacity.

Built to exacting specifications, the Castaway sidewalls are constructed from a 210 denier, double-coated nylon, while the floor features a beefed-up 840 denier material. The two-chamber design provides greater safety than traditional one-chamber packrafts, while one-inch seam welds with reinforced tape ensure durability and the highest-quality, air-holding properties.

Eleven-inch diameter tubes ensure stability on the water as well as providing some protection from swells.

Six integrated nylon d-rings serve as convenient gear-tie downs, while an inflatable seat rest provides back support. With the included inflation bag, the Castaway can be ready for the water in less than five minutes.

The 5-inch inflatable floor with side wells provides extra buoyancy and rigidity, allowing the paddler to sit higher, keeping out of the water. The open design also offers easy entry and exit as well as a higher paddling position to allow deeper and more efficient paddle strokes.

The Castaway XL features an additional 13 inches of length - great for taller paddlers or those with more gear - and a higher payload of 425 lbs. The added length - in conjunction with an included removable tracking fin - allows for better tracking and longer distance paddling.

Both the floor and fin can be removed when weight savings is essential.

The Castaway XL is perfect for flat-to-mild water environments (Class I and II) and can easily be backpacked to remote locations, taken on camping trips, tossed on a plane or stashed in an RV. The high portability and open design provides easy entry for seniors and those with disabilities.
