Solid feel, ovalized grip, soft movable drip rings. Complaints from the other review sound like someone got some dirt or salt problems. A little silicone spray and proper care would solve his issue. Smallish blades compared to cannon wave. I bought along with a AE twilight($59) and a cannon wave fiberglasss ($89-119). While it is not as nice as the wave, it is vastly superior to the twilight. I say spend a few extra dollars and get a wave fiberglass, especially if you are pushing a bigger boat or heavy load. But the cascade is solid for $59, can't lose there either.

I have two sets of this paddle. They work fine. They do not jounce at all. Even children in elementary school can handle one.
Only the problem is disassembling. After paddling, it is very hard to disassemble because the center two pipes fit too tight. Everytime when I paddle, I have to bring back them without disassembling fully.
Except for it, it is cheap and light weight, thus good for beginners.
(Note from AirKayaks: Thanks for the feedback! Stuart from Cannon suggests using bicycle grease - like White Lightning - if you have some issues with sticking. Also, whether used in salt or fresh water, you should always rinse off after using. )
