Manufactured in Romania, the new Crossover 11-8 inflatable SUP from Mistral utilizes a futuristic German material that is REACH-certified and environmentally-friendly, combining light weight with extreme stiffness.

Mistral's revolutionary new internal construction technology consists of multi PVC layers with a three-dimensional woven structure; in simple terms, the top and bottom layers are connected by multiple threads that are cross-woven rather than straight, creating 50% more durable warp and weft tensile strength than existing drop stitch technology. The result is a much lighter, stiffer and durable board, which can be inflated to 15 PSI.

The key to the Mistral Crossover 11-8 WindSUP is a unique, detachable mast mounting system which - in conjunction with the new Mistral break-apart boom and mast (optional) - provides a simple, laidback sailing experience without the need for high winds, and permits the paddler to travel with their SUP.

The optional sail mast attaches via a simple base plate (included) which utilizes a unique velcro-strapping system. The plate can be put into two different positions - forward for higher winds, and back for gentle winds; a slot in the base plate also allows further movement in both directions. The strap system can remain on the board and can be used to pick up the SUP.

An ingenious stiffening panel on the underside of the Crossover 11-8 assists in offsetting the weight of the rig and hull at higher speeds. Additionally, a second US fin box has been strategically positioned to work in tune with the sail, increasing the boards lateral resistance in the same way as a conventional dagger board.

With the longer waterline, the Crossover 11-8 is great for paddling lakes, slow-moving rivers and flat waters. When the weather gets windier, strap on the mast and head out for a sail!
