An AirKayaks exclusive! The limited edition AdvancedFrame DS XL Series™* inflatable compact kayak with high-pressure dropstitch floor, high-backed lumbar seat and double action pump with gauge - now in a longer length.
See also our AdvancedFrame DS XLC - this is the same kayak with a removable zip-in deck and other features. Looking for something smaller? Check out the new Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Sport DS.
Based on popular demand, AirKayaks packaged the best-selling AdvancedFrame inflatable compact kayak with upgraded accessories from Advanced Elements - in a limited edition blue - to create the ultimate AdvancedFrame DS Series™.
Now, AirKayaks introduces the limited edition AdvancedFrame DS XL Series™* inflatable compact kayak, adding 5 inches in length to create a kayak comfortable enough for both smaller and taller paddlers. The longer, streamlined body - in conjunction with the high pressure floor - provides better tracking and increased glide with minimal increase in weight, while an adjustable foot peg system allows paddlers to find the support perfect for their size and paddling style.
Removable rigid ribs in the bow and stern are made of high grade aluminum, allowing the bow to slice through water like a knife. The stern acts as a skeg, which increases the tracking performance. When the chambers inflate, these ribs are pressed against the outer cover and form a high performance bow and stern which rival the tracking of a hard-shell day touring kayak yet still folds up compactly!
The Advanced Elements inflatable kayak is manufactured from extremely durable materials and high-end components. There is plenty of on-board storage space without cramping your leg room, making extended trips much more enjoyable. It sets up in just a few minutes, and is compact enough to take along for an adventure anywhere. The Advanced Elements inflatable kayak's durable double-coated fabric, heavy-duty PVC and electronically welded seams can take bumps, scrapes and rough water.
If you love the water, but like to travel light, this sleek compact inflatable kayak will add a new dimension to your outdoor adventures. From lakes, and mild rivers, to bays and estuaries, it is a delight to get on the water quickly; keep it deflated in the trunk of your car and the next time you're driving along a river, lake or bay, you can be fishing or paddling in just minutes! This Advanced Elements inflatable kayak is the perfect watercraft for campers, Rvers, travelers or those that just don’t want the hassle of roof racks!

I purchased this kayak primarily as a safety vehicle for a friend who does marathon open water swimming, and also as something to paddle around in on weekends. After two outings, it is very simple to set up and take down when getting in and out of the water. Surprisingly i can even get it back in the bag without any trouble.
the long tube on the seat so you can adjust the lumbar support while paddling is a nice feature, and so far it's a really comfortable ride...no real discomfort after ~3 hours on the water.
Overall great experience

I ordered two AdvancedFrame DS kayaks from you back in July, and am pleased to report that we’ve really enjoyed them. As sailors, we love to explore the anchorages we visit, but rowing our inflatable tender around is a chore (and we don’t want to get an outboard if we can help it). The kayaks are fun to paddle, and are also easy to load and unload off of our boat since they’re light and don’t punish our lifelines or topsides like hard shell kayaks would. When we don’t need them we simply deflate them and store them below since setup is easy and quick. We’ve also taken to bringing one or two along on our car trips in case there’s any water to explore.
By the way, the kayaks attracted attention in most places we went, with people very surprised that they actually were inflatable.
Thanks again for your advice and good service.

I've had the kayak for about two weeks now. I've added an anchoring system, a small crate with two rod holders and modified a small carry on type bag to use as a tackle and storage bag that I can strap to the top. A portable fish finder finishes my fishing vessel that now lives in the trunk of my civic.
The drop stitch floor makes it pretty fast and stable ensuring casting distance and accuracy. The bladders are protected by layers of material and puncture risk is minimal. Two days ago the winds at the lake were over 20 knots gusting close to 30 and I had no issues with control. I did get wet from the spray but that is to be expected without a skirt.
I'm extremely happy with the advanced frame especially with the DS floor. I'd gladly recommend it to anyone.
PS- I fish at a small (200 acres) lake on an Army post, highly overfished. The lack of engine noise improves my odds of actually landing fish. Kept five yesterday and ten the day prior. Talking to the other boats they were averaging one or none.

I bought the AE1012DS - beautiful - takes a bit of time to get used to from hard kayaks but the set up time and the space for camping equipment was wonderful - I took it to Yellowstone - and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the people I went with trade in their hard kayaks for one of the inflatables - there is a lot of portaging in Yellowstone - by the time we were finished everyone was jealous - I was out of the lake - hiking with my kayak over my shoulder (very light) and into the next lake in about 1/8 the time it took for them to haul the hard type out and around - then I was able to bring mine with me home to the UK - while a couple of my friends had to rent - the price of renting - 30$ a day - was another bonus - so for the 10 days - they shelled out 300 and mine went on a new kayak that I will continue to enjoy in the lake district in the UK - thanks again and what a wonderful Kayak!

My boat arrived safe and sound and I gave it a whirl yesterday. Thanks so much. I love the dropstitch floor!!
I tried it with the back bone, then with the dropstitch floor and it paddled just as well. I really like that now I don't have the extra step of adding the backbone (please it's easier on my behind.)

I took out the kayak today for the first time in the open water, it was great! Though not without any scares. Just before my
first ride, some silly person moved the fully inflated kayak to the side of my car without telling me...I ended up running it over with
one side for a full min before I realized it... not only did it survive that, but it did not even show a single scuff! I put it through a stress test without meaning to.
