The Escape has a design that implements elements of engineering to help you "escape" small oscillations in the water. The tapered, dihedral design of the blade helps direct water around the paddle, allowing an easy pull through the water, moving you forward on less effort. The fiberglass shaft has a warmer feel than aluminum and will stand up better to saltwater usage.
